Olivia:
Hello everyone, and welcome. Thank you for joining us today. We are delighted to host this webinar in partnership with Swift Cloud, and we appreciate you taking the time to be here.
Today, we will address some of the critical challenges faced by wholesalers, manufacturers, and suppliers in the ever-evolving B2B landscape. We will explore integrated solutions that can help you overcome these challenges and drive your business forward.
This session will feature a live demonstration of Swift Cloud, one of our partner solutions, showcasing its powerful features, followed by a Q&A session. We have a lot to cover, so let’s get started.
First, let me introduce our speaker for today, James, who is a Senior Sales Manager for Adventurous, a leading B2B SaaS provider across the UK and Europe, with Swift Cloud as its flagship platform. With a 26-year career in sales, James is experienced in solving critical business challenges.
As for myself, I’m Olivia Morris, the Marketing Manager for Monpellier, with current and previous experience in technology marketing, specifically in the B2B tech sector. Without further ado, I’ll hand over to James, who will begin the live demonstration of Swift Cloud.
James:
I’ll just share my screen so we can begin. Hopefully, you can all see that.
Olivia:
Thank you, James.
James:
Good. Welcome to the Swift Cloud demonstration. This is a brief overview of what you would typically see in a more detailed demo session. We will tailor it as best we can to your sector and product type.
I’ll start with a quick introduction to us, followed by a look at what’s driving change in the B2B world. Then, I’ll demonstrate Swift Cloud in action. We at Adventurous have developed Swift Cloud, our dedicated platform. We’ve been around since 2012, based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, and are already working with over 200 businesses across various sectors.
Our clients include well-known names like AG Barr, the makers of Irn-Bru, PepsiCo, Cooper Tires, Scripps, and multinational companies such as Dole and Isuzu, as well as family-owned businesses.
On the app side of Swift Cloud, we offer a dedicated, custom-branded app, not just a website adapted to fit a mobile device. We discuss this in more detail in our main demo, but simply put, a custom-branded app can significantly improve engagement and performance, especially for customers who are not permanently at a desk.
Swift Cloud is a B2B ordering platform that allows your customers to place orders quickly and easily via a dedicated app or web portal, alongside other modules tailored to specific features we offer. The custom-branded mobile app is a game-changer, particularly in environments where customers are not permanently at a desk. We also provide a web portal, a desktop-based version of Swift Cloud, at a fraction of the cost of other web solutions, which can be easily integrated into your main landing page.
Additionally, we offer an app for your sales managers on the road, allowing them to place orders on behalf of customers, offer discounts, and more. Push notifications are also available, ensuring your customers receive relevant information, special offers, and promotions.
The first four modules practically eliminate data entry tasks within your business, reducing voicemails and streamlining internal processes. Other modules cater to specific needs, such as a telesales portal for fast order entry, a B2C or retail module for guest checkout, and a quotations module for sectors where pricing fluctuates.
The email ordering capture module automates orders received via email, while the purchase order authorisation module allows for an approval process before orders are submitted, ensuring smooth operations.
Swift Cloud offers a custom-branded solution, downloadable as your business’s app from various app stores. It provides a flawless experience across devices, with an admin portal that requires no additional management as it integrates seamlessly with your existing systems.
Swift Cloud ensures 100% accuracy in pricing, availability, delivery options, and product visibility on a per-customer basis. We can replicate any pricing structure, no matter how complex, setting us apart from the competition.
So, let’s dive in and see how Swift Cloud can streamline and enhance your business operations.
We will set complex delivery parameters on a per-customer basis. This includes minimum order charges, minimum order values, delivery options, click-and-collect options, cutoff times, and even multiple cutoff times across different product categories. Additionally, Swift Cloud offers a powerful promotional tool, which is one of the reasons you might want to use the admin portal. This tool allows you to precisely target your margins. You can send promotions to a specific individual buyer, ensuring only they can see or access that promotion. You can also create groups of companies or filtered groups of products and set up time-limited or unit-limited offers. As products sell out or time expires, the promotion automatically concludes. There are also clever multi-buy options, such as “buy three items from one group of products and choose something free from another group,” creating engaging experiences for your customers.
Swift Cloud can integrate data from multiple locations, meaning it doesn’t all have to come from your main business system. For example, imagery might be stored elsewhere. The platform also features powerful barcode scanning, unit sales, and a technical library on a per-product basis.
I’m moving through this quickly because I want to get to the main part of the presentation, but I hope you can see the device on your screen. I’m holding this device in my hand now, and I’m going to take you through how Swift Cloud operates.
Your customers would receive a username and password directly from the system, which reflects their trading terms within the platform. This makes it very simple for them to access the Swift Cloud platform.
Let’s use one of my demo accounts, and I’ll take you through the actual app. You have a splash screen and a welcome offer screen that you control, and now I’ll log in with my username and password. This platform is really fast and slick, unlike web-based solutions, which constantly refresh pages and can be slow and cumbersome. Swift Cloud is lightning-quick; it doesn’t session out or time out, and it allows customers to build orders over time within the platform.
Swift Cloud is also highly configurable. I’ll give you an overview of the feature sets, but don’t be overwhelmed—everything can be customised for your company. I’ll start by clicking on “Browse.” In this example, my products are organised into categories and subcategories. Notice how fast the platform works. Your systems aren’t doing any of the heavy lifting; they’re merely exporting data. Our systems handle all the heavy lifting on the platform.
I’ll start by clicking on “Chemicals” and browsing. You can see the visible products, and it’s very intuitive—just click the large plus sign, click “OK,” and the items are added to the basket. Now, I’ll go back and browse a different category, such as “Food and Groceries.” I’m moving through this quickly because this is how fast your customers would use it. Here’s a simple promotion: buy three of these items, and you get an additional one free. I’ll add three to the basket, and it will automatically add the additional one.
Swift Cloud handles units of measure in different ways, depending on the sector. For example, I’ve fixed a particular unit of measure—say, a box of 20—but you might be able to type in the amount you want or select different variants. For instance, with a product like beef, you might need the 110-volt version, or you might need it shrink-wrapped. You can have different configurations.
In the top right, you have technical filters, which can narrow thousands of products down to just a few in an instant. I’ll show you one more promotion in the “Materials” category before moving on. You can see a promotion where, if you buy three items from one group of products, you get to choose a free item from another. I’ll quickly add three items, and now I have five items in the basket. Let’s see what’s in the basket at the moment. There’s my free case of Coke because I qualified for that promotion. If I change it to two cases, I no longer qualify, and the free item disappears.
Swift Cloud’s promotions can be highly targeted, even down to an individual buyer, so not everyone has access to the same promotion.
Top lists are hugely popular in the B2B world. The system can do three things:
Autogenerate lists of regular items that a buyer frequently orders by looking at their order history and breaking it down by categories or timeframes, making it easy for them to reorder.
Allow the buyer to create and name their lists, like a regular monthly order.
Enable you to create lists of products and push them into a client’s app or platform, perhaps for a new product launch or a marketing campaign. User favourites, as the name suggests, are regular items that can be accessed at any time. If I click on an image, I can view multiple images and descriptions, if relevant. Clicking on the main body of any product in the platform allows access to further information, such as quantity break pricing or the asset library for that particular product, where PDFs, brochures, and videos can be made available.
Watch how fast it works when I click on “Technical Information.” Even a deliberately large multi-page document opens instantly and flawlessly within the platform. A website could never compete with this performance. Clicking on the installation guide, even with high-resolution images like a brochure, opens instantaneously.
When information is this quick and easy to access, it not only reduces your phone line traffic but also allows users to email or download documents directly. For example, an MSDS document can be sent to someone on-site by simply entering their email address and sending it directly from the platform.
The search bar allows you to search for products by name, product code, or tag word. This feature also turns your device into a scanning tool. When I click on it, I can hover over a QR code, and it brings up the respective product for repeat ordering or accessing information about it. It works incredibly fast, which is crucial in the B2B world, where customers are highly demanding. We recently onboarded a client whose previous barcode scanning feature took an excessive amount of time to process, whereas ours is instantaneous.
One significant factor I like to call the “Amazon effect” is the convenience it offers. For instance, a customer might notice that a product on Swift Cloud is more expensive than their usual supplier, but due to the convenience and speed of the order process, they may still choose to purchase it through Swift Cloud. This convenience drives volume, as seen with H Bars, who saw a 10% increase in average basket spend when they launched the app. We’ve also observed other cases with a 15% and even 18% increase in average basket spending across various sectors.
When the platform works as seamlessly as Swift Cloud does, you can reap the benefits too—not just in streamlining internal processes but also in genuinely increasing sales. For example, when a customer sees they have seven items in their basket, it encourages them to complete their order.
In addition to our app, we also offer a browser-based version of Swift Cloud. This can be accessed through a username and password-protected portal, or it could function similarly to a website, integrated with your landing page or marketing site under your subdomain. This version would carry your branding and offer super-fast navigation, with rapid filtering and a modern, clean feature set.
This includes features such as favourite shopping lists, account management, downloading order confirmations, and even the ability to upload orders via a template—especially useful for desktop users. Everything is fully synchronised, so whatever actions are taken on the app or web portal are reflected instantly on both platforms. This allows your customers to start and finish an order whenever they want, however, they want. The platform doesn’t time out, so customers can build their orders over time, without needing to scribble notes on bits of paper. This enhances engagement and leads to increased sales.
Moving on, Swift Cloud’s checkout process replicates the complexities of B2B sales, handling individual customer pricing, whether they have a credit account or require cash in advance. If they’re paying in advance, a secure payment gateway is available. Delivery options can be tailored, such as only allowing selections on certain days due to logistical reasons. Multiple delivery addresses can be selected, and purchase order numbers can be made mandatory or optional. Once an order is submitted, it goes straight into your system as though someone manually entered it, allowing you to continue with your next processes seamlessly.
Swift Cloud can generate order confirmations, and customers can view their order history, download previous confirmations, and even repeat entire orders with a single click. They can also pick individual items from past orders, making it easier to find and reorder regular products. Additionally, there may be a media library—a repository of technical information, promotional brochures, or rich content videos, neatly organised and easily accessible.
I’d like to briefly mention the additional features offered by the Sales Manager module. This operates similarly to what you’ve just seen but is designed for your employees who might be on the road. They can access accounts they are permitted to view, place orders on behalf of those accounts, and even see additional information that the customer can’t—such as stock levels in the warehouse.
As an employee, you might also have the option to override prices, offering deals and discounts on the spot. You might even see profit margins to help make informed decisions when negotiating with customers. You can view client shopping lists, place orders, scan barcodes, and once an order is submitted, it’s immediately recorded against the customer’s account—no need for lengthy synchronisation processes.
Finally, there’s a Customer Admin section offering basic CRM features, allowing notes to be appended, reports to be run, and customer account information to be accessed—all while out on the road.
That was a brief overview of Swift Cloud. To conclude, Swift Cloud is a fully serviced solution. We don’t just sell you the platform and leave you to it. You’ll be assigned a Customer Success Manager as a single point of contact for all your ongoing training and support needs. They will ensure a successful launch of the platform and continue to assist you post-launch with business changes, app updates, or marketing advice on how to increase uptake. This is in addition to our 24/7 technical support for the platform itself.
This was a quick summary of a much more detailed presentation that we can offer. If you get in touch with us, we can arrange a more comprehensive session at a pace that suits you. I’d also like to touch on the pricing side of things.
Olivia:
Perfect, thank you, James. Now, let’s move on to our quick Q&A session.
Q&A Session
Olivia:
We have a couple of questions, James you could answer them? The first one is: “Managing high volumes of complex orders is a significant challenge for us, often leading to errors and delays. How can Swift Cloud streamline this process for SMBs?”
James:
There are so many ways in which Swift Cloud eliminates errors within a business. Firstly, the platform simplifies the ordering process, making it easy for customers to find and order the right products. In some cases, we’ve helped customers by resolving issues where they were forgetting to order necessary complementary products. For example, a children’s flooring manufacturer’s customers were forgetting to order a certain resin activator needed for installation. Swift Cloud prompted them to order it whenever they ordered the flooring, which eliminated the issue.
When customers place an order digitally, they can review their selections, ensuring they’ve ordered the correct products. Since there’s no need for further data entry after the order is placed, input errors are significantly reduced. In summary, Swift Cloud offers multiple ways to streamline processes and reduce errors, helping your customers quickly and easily find the right products time and time again.
Olivia:
Fantastic, thank you. We have one more question: “Integrating new technologies with our existing systems is often complex and disruptive. How does Swift Cloud minimise these issues for small and medium-sized businesses?”
James:
We offer extensive support when it comes to integration. Unlike many businesses that simply provide templates and expect you to deliver your data in a specific format, we work with clients based on their available resources and expertise. Some clients are very familiar with extracting data from their systems, while others may give our team read-only access to query the SQL tables directly for relevant information, such as customer details, products, and pricing.
We set up automation to extract this data, offering support tailored to your level of expertise. Swift Cloud can integrate with any ERP system, typically via an API or SFTP process. Your systems can be configured to export data as a file, and we’ll help you define the correct, most cost-effective solution. Sometimes, there are more economical ways of integrating without needing costly APIs, and we’ll guide you through that process.
Olivia:
